Greening the Future: 600 Trees Re-Planted at Dera School, Delhi

In a powerful step toward ecological restoration and environmental education, Dera School in Delhi recently undertook a remarkable re-plantation drive — successfully replanting 600 native trees using the Miyawaki method.

This initiative goes beyond tree planting — it is a heartfelt effort to reconnect children with nature, restore green cover, and instill lifelong values of sustainability in young minds.

A Day of Purpose and Participation

With trowels in hand and smiles on their faces, students of Dera School enthusiastically participated in the plantation process, learning not only how to plant trees, but why they matter.

Each sapling planted symbolized a new beginning  a promise for cleaner air, richer biodiversity, and a healthier urban environment.

🌱 Why Re-Plantation Matters

Delhi, like many major cities, battles air pollution and the heat island effect. While plantation is essential, maintaining and restoring existing green spaces is equally important. This re-plantation initiative at Dera School ensured:

The Miyawaki method ensures fast growth, high density, and a natural self-sustaining forest that mimics native biodiversity — ideal for Delhi’s urban conditions.

🌎 Educating for a Greener Tomorrow

This re-plantation drive wasn’t just an event — it was an open-air classroom. As students got their hands dirty, they also absorbed valuable lessons in:

  • Teamwork and stewardship
  • Respect for the environment
  • Long-term thinking and ecological awareness

They didn’t just plant trees. They planted hope.

💚 A Collective Step Forward

This initiative reflects the power of community-driven green action. Dera School has set a shining example of how education and environment can go hand in hand. With continued care, these 600 trees will soon form a dense, green micro-forest — cooling the surroundings, cleaning the air, and bringing biodiversity back to the heart of the city.
